On the menu: bone broth

January 12th, 2023

Impact Kitchen and bone broth have been synonymous since Impact first opened its doors back in 2015. And for good reason—bone broth is a flavourful and nutrient-dense food. Not only are bones rich in minerals, like calcium, magnesium and potassium, but they’re also a good source of collagen and amino acids.

Making bone broth from scratch is the best way to ensure both quality and flavour. Of course, not everyone wants to spend their free time making their own broth. If that’s you, not to worry: Impact Kitchen has lots of great ways to incorporate house-made bone broth into your busy life!

Sipping Broths

One of the easiest ways to add more broth into your day is with our house-made chicken and beef broths. Impact bone broths are simmered for up to 24 hours to encourage the release of health-supportive key nutrients, like collagen, glycine and glutamine.

The chicken bone broth is made fresh daily with ingredients like antibiotic-free chicken bones, garlic, ginger, carrots, celery, and apple cider vinegar. The beef broth is made using grass-fed beef bones, onions, celery, carrots, tomato paste, thyme and bay leaves. Both are delicious and make great bases for any soups or stews!

You can buy it by the jar from the retail fridge, or grab a hot cup of broth to-go. If you get a hot cup of broth, it is definitely worth adding one of Impact’s signature flavour blends: Miso Ginger, Turmeric Garlic or Tomato Herb. Not only are these flavour add-ons delicious, they also come loaded with health benefits: miso is rich in gut-supportive probiotics, turmeric helps to reduce inflammation, and tomatoes contain antioxidants like vitamin C and lycopene.

Chicken Noodle Soup

A classic with a twist, Impact Kitchen’s chicken noodle soup is made with house-made chicken bone broth, diced chicken, and sweet potato noodles, and includes immune-boosting ingredients like fresh turmeric and ginger. Turmeric has been well-studied for its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory benefits, while ginger can help to improve digestion and boost immune function. This soup is the perfect pick-me-up when flu season comes a knockin!

Free Run Chicken Breast

A tasty addition to any bowl, Impact Kitchen’s sliced chicken is cooked and held in chicken bone broth, to retain as much flavour and moisture as possible! Add fresh chicken onto any Impact bowl for a balanced and filling meal.

Turkey Chili

What winter menu would be complete without a hearty stew to round it out? This warming chili is made with a base of ground turkey, beans, Impact’s chicken bone broth and loads of fresh vegetables like zucchini, sweet potatoes, carrots, celery and onions. It has sweet and smoky notes, with a slightly spicy finish. This turkey chili is packed with fibre from the beans and vegetables, plenty of protein and antioxidants like beta carotene and vitamin C.
