with Program Manager - Mihir

September 6, 2023

In this series, we take a look at the amazing work being accomplished by members of our community. These are the game-changers, the inspirational leaders, and the passion-driven individuals who are changing our community, our health and our planet.

Q: Introduce yourself: tell us who you are and what you do at Impact Kitchen?

A: My name is Mihir Diwadkar and I am currently working as an Offsite Catering Program Manager.

Q: What has your journey at Impact looked like & what has been the highlight to date?

A:  I was referred to Impact Kitchen by a close friend of mine. The company was very much inclined towards the health food industry which very much appealed to me. I recently completed two years at Impact! I started as a Virtual Kitchens Manager for Impact and helped the company venture into a new market. It was a challenging role and at the same time a great opportunity to work with all departments. After 6 months I took over the Gary Roberts Catering Program and made the third year of the program a success. I was then made the General Manager of the Summerhill location and I took great pride in working with my team there. Now, the offsite catering program is an amplified version of all the challenges I have faced before. This experience has made me better and I am very grateful for the team that I have and the support that I have received from the ancillaries. I will say that my journey at Impact has been a series of highlights where every event has not only boosted my confidence but also made me love the brand more.

Q: What is your favorite thing about your role?

A: I am a very positive person and won’t crumble in the toughest of situations. My persevering attitude and adaptability has made me a perfect fit for my role. I am very keen on seeing my team in my position and I always strive to get them to that level. I like sharing knowledge because humans are the best investment in any company.

Q:Outside of work, what lights you up? What are some of your hobbies & interests?

A:  I am a person who would leap to eat something I haven’t tried before. The excitement always gets the best of me. I like trying out new restaurants with my wife. At the same time I also don’t miss a chance to make her dinner. Listening to music is more like a habit than a hobby for me now. I am a mixed genre guy and I need it wherever I go. I am also a PC Gamer in the age of consoles but I stick to it and enjoy spending a few hours every week to unwind by playing.

Q: Impacting the community is important to our team, what does ‘community’ mean to you?

A: Community to me means inclusion and Impact has been very big at it. We all work hard to make ourselves and the people around us believe that healthy food can always be tasty! The brand’s philosophy projects exactly what we as a community are striving for. The activities and events that Impact Kitchen hosts or collaborates with has shown to me that they care and you need to care if you’re building a community.

Q: What is your favourite Impact Kitchen menu item & why?

A: I am very fond of the Warrior Bowl with Avo and I add a little twist to my bowl by adding Paleo Chicken Tenders to it for protein. In the first year at Impact I never tried the bowl because it felt too simple to me. Then, when I had it for the first time I realized that the subtlety of the bowl makes it a winner. One year down that is the only bowl I eat!

Q: How do you strive to make an Impact every day?

A: I have seen the value that Impact Kitchen food provides and it has helped me promote a healthier lifestyle and make better choices. I do my best to get to know the people around me, be it guests or Impact team members. I am good at remembering names and I feel that makes the people feel valued and important.

We look forward to introducing you to more members of our community who are making an Impact every day.
