Bones are rich in important minerals, like calcium, magnesium and potassium, and they also happen to be a good source of collagen, amino acids and glucosamine.
Gelatin, the cooked form of collagen, may help protect the digestive tract, due to an amino acid, glutamine, that can help maintain the integrity of the intestinal wall, and protect against intestinal hyperpermeability, otherwise known as “leaky gut”.
